Baseball: The Hanwha Eagles

by Kim Hogg on June 22, 2007

Daejeon’s local team, the Hanwha Eagles, plays mostly out of the Hanbat Stadium (see map at bottom) but a few times a season has games in Cheongju.

The games are a great place to go and hang out with friends for an afternoon or evening game. The first base line holds the cheering section and the overflow and visitors sit down the third base line. I like to sit in the outfield where there’s lots of space to heckle loudly without disrupting too many people

Although our beloved Eagles suffered a heartbreaking defeat to the Samsung Lions (Boo, Lions!) in the 2006 championship series, we’re hoping 2007 is their year.

General Admission: 6,000

First Class seats (home plate): 12,000
