Good review Mike. I am going to pass on this film. Yes, atrocities happened in the war on both sides--like the photos of U.S. soldiers outside of Daejeon who were shot in the back by North Koreans execution style (their hands were tied behind their backs with barbed wire). I am not disavowing that civilians did die at the hands of the military--whether caught in friendly fire or confused with the enemy. One of my problems with the book was how the authors "fictionalized" some of the story--like one description of a young soldier stroking his weapon, anxious to get to Korea and kill. When I reviewed the book in 2001, the editors wrote to the editor of the Korea Times. Guess they didn't like what I had to say.

The Korean War was filled with tragedy and we're still trying to put some of those ghosts to rest.

Thanks for sharing this review with us Mike.
