This winter, you can make your first holiday gathering a wine party with a purpose.
December is already a month for socializing, sharing, and helping others. This year, party-planners and party-goers across Korea will also help raise money for the Korea Women’s Hot Line.
Getting involved is simple and fun: Plan or attend a wine party on December 4, 5, or 6, and help raise money for this worthy cause. The weekend of wine parties coincides with the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence, which runs internationally from November 25 to December 10.
The night, location, and guest list of each party is determined by individual hosts, who provide the space and simple appetizers or snacks. Guests are encouraged to bring a bottle of wine (or other alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages) and a 10,000 won donation toward the Korea Women’s Hot Line.
The goal is for Korea to be the home to many parties with a purpose during the first weekend in December! Generous people across around the country will use parties to help raise money and awareness for gender violence and inequality. Which city will host the most parties? Which group will raise the most money? Now is the time to contribute to a worthy cause while also having fun.
If you are interested in throwing a party, no official preparation is necessary – just tell your friends, whip up some delicious treats, break out the corkscrew and collect donations.
