Socius Getting Intern, Needs Stuff Donations.

by Kim Hogg on November 11, 2009

So yeah, we’re getting an intern, and I need some equipment for that intern so they can keep Socius up to date, do interviews around town, take photos of stuff to show you where to find stuff and such. If you have something you’d be willing to donate, sell cheap or have some connections you can call in, we need you.

I’m looking for:

  • Netbooks. Small, light and long batteries for posting from around town. Should run Windows so that the intern can access all those crazy websites that require IE + active X + SP2. If you don’t know what that means, don’t worry. If it runs Windows it should work. Otherwise I’d be more than happy to take Linux or Mac note/netbooks.
  • Digital Cameras. Again, small and simple is good. Video function is very cool. Memory cards a bonus, but I’ll pick some up if I have to.
  • Money. If you’d like to donate to keeping these interns out and about and updating, you can make a financial donation. Contact me with using the Contact Page and I’ll send you bank account information.

Once I get this intern up and running we’ll be turning to you again for suggestions on how to beef up the site, assignments, questions that need answered and all that stuff I wish I had about 30 hours a week to do.

I can take assignments to help… especially if they are things I can do in the evening.

Thanks, Vince. How’s your Korean ability? Even if you aren’t able to understand much there is observational work and discussion with locals that needs to be done. If you’re looking to beef up your Korea I can certainly give you some translating to do (mine got a whole lot better that way).

I really appreciate the offer. I’ll see what I can send your way.
