Sweet Mountain Bike for Sale

[Ed's note: these types of posts usually end up in the forums, but since they're not working right now I'm putting this up front.]

I know — it’s the midde of winter and the last thing most of us are thinking about is a nice bike ride. However, spring is only a few short months away and I won’t be here to see it … so I have a great mountain bike for sale.

It’s a sweet ride on and off road and has lots of cool features:

  • Almost new, barely used. I got it in early fall and didn’t have a chance to take it out much.
  • Solid Appalachia steel frame.
  • Shimano components, such as the derailleur and gear set.
  • Great knobby tires that you can easily swap out for slicks if you need to.
  • Normally sells new for 300,000 won but I’92m selling it for 150,000 won and throwing in a lock (normally 15,000 won) and a helmet (normally 30,000 won) for free.

Shoot me an email if you’92re interested!

Thanks,

Sasha

what sort of suspension ?

It has a front shock. It’s an RST adjustable shock with about 4 or 5 inches of travel depending on how you set it.

Hey everyone — it’s tough selling a bike when it’s wicked cold out, so I’m dropping the price to 100,000 won including the helmet and lock. Please drop me a line if you’re interested …. sasha (dot) in (dot) korea (at) gmail (dot) com.

Or… Does anyone know where good places to buy bikes are and what they should cost. The ones at HomePlus seem a bit small. And I am only 6 feet tall.

Thanks.

Ken,

It all depends on what you want to spend, and what you plan on using the bike for. Basic (hunk of junk) is about 100,000-160,000 won. Mid range (like the picture above-8 speed/24 gears) is about 330,000-450,000 won. The higher end models will run you millions of won depending on the bicycle you want.

\
Take a look around the neighborhood. There are usually bike shops on just about every corner. You can also get deals from these shops on used bikes as well, but you might have to do some comparison shopping to find exactly what you want. For these prices, or about 10,000 won more, you should be able to get some water guards, a behind-the-seat storage rack, a bell, and a cable lock thrown in as well (at least my neighborhood Lespo dealer has done that the 3 times I have bought a bike from him here in Taepyeong-dong).

Geocycle is a high-end shop with decent size Lespo shop on the same block. You can find it here: http://www.socius.or.kr/2006/11/23/kim-hyeong-sik/lang-pref/zh/?PHPSESSID=84332e30d163c3fed0585171d56b8097 thanks to Kim.
