the makers of Prince Caspian kept to the original story in a lot of ways, but then strayed in others... i had heard they were going to make it into a silly pure-action flick, but thankfully this was not the case

This is a great film that is quite faithful to the original source material, unlike "The Fellowhip of the Rings" which shocked me in that it excised Tom Bombadil and Goldberry entirely.

This is also a religious film as C.S. Lewis wrote to an American girl about his book, it is about the "restoration of the true religion after corruption." You can find more of Clive Staples Lewis's beliefs in his works, biographies, and the film, "Shadowlands."

While a little slow in unfolding in today's world of smash cuts, increasingly shorter and shorter attention spans, and answering one's cell phone numerous times while unabashedly disturbing others in movie theaters, this film is stirring in its messages of courage, friendship, family, and faith that is needed by so many in today's troubled world.
