This past Monday, I wandered around Dunsan dong, looking for a quiet coffee shop type of place where I could put my feet up for a while and work in peace. The walls of my apartment were starting to close in, so I knew I had to get out for a while. Luckily, I stumbled upon a great little place called “Brown Sugar.”
The environment is really nice. The chairs are comfortable, the music was there but not too loud, my wireless connections was strong, and the staff was really friendly. As I took my seat, I was brought a piece of cake, “service” before I even ordered my tea. I smiled politely, expecting this cake to be the normal Korean style cake that looks nice, but tastes like sugar poured on cardboard. I was so surprised to find the cake light and tasty, with just the right amount of strawberries and cream. When my tea arrived, I was glad to see that it wasn’t a Lipton teabag in a mug. It was proper loose leaf tea with a little sand hourglass as a timer. It was sweet and perfect, as was the view of the people on the street through the floor to ceiling windows.
I’ll be going back again. If you want to visit Brown Sugar, and I recommend that you do, it is located in Dunsan dong on the main street perpendicular to Time World. It’s on the second floor across from the big Crown Bakery, on the same street as Bubi Bubi.

Nice find! I’ll have to check that out later this week when I visit City Hall.
